A2 Ghee and its cancer-fighting qualities

The health benefits and drawbacks of ghee have been discussed extensively. Guess what, though? When consumed in moderation, ghee—which is sometimes blamed for having negative heart effects—does not adversely affect cardiac health. In actuality, numerous investigations and research projects carried out both domestically in India and overseas have demonstrated the anti-cancer effects of ghee.


Pure Gir Cow Ghee is an effective cancer-fighting substance that contains antioxidants. Conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, is a potent antioxidant that can be found in ghee. This induces cancer cells to self-destruct (a process known as apoptosis) and aids in lowering inflammatory chemicals.

Milk products made from milk from grass-fed cows have higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA. For this reason, it's best to use butter that comes from milk from cows that are fed grass for making ghee.Studies show that ghee, which is generated from the butter of grass-fed cows, has a higher CLA content, lowers body fat, and reduces inflammation.

Research on how ghee affects cancer cells

According to a research in the Journal of Nutrition, the fatty acids in ghee boost CLA's anti-tumor properties. In this investigation, mice that had been implanted with breast cancer cells participated. Three groups of mice were fed different diets: one with a high concentration of corn oil, one with regular chow plus CLA, and one with CLA plus ghee.

The results showed that the group that also took ghee had much fewer sites where cancer had spread (metastases). Additionally, the ghee reduced the level of CLA to what was required for it to have an impact.


Ghee enhances enzymes that detoxify cancer causing substances


In a recent issue of the Indian Journal of Medical Research, scientists from the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) have reported that cow ghee enhances the availability of those enzymes that contribute to detoxification of cancer-causing substances. A2 Cow Ghee also reduces availability of those enzymes that are known to activate carcinogens. However that does not mean that you can go overboard in your consumption of ghee. You must take care that the intake of total fat (including ghee) should not exceed the prescribed limit of fat consumption.
